If I was supposed to show a prime example of how a musical should look like, this would be it. Although the storyline wasn’t very interesting, it has some really good scenes that I genuinely adore. My mom loves this movie and I can understand why.

Even though this movie was good, I expected way more. The plot is interesting. I wish it was more about dancing as a whole, though. I love movies set in the 80s, so that’s a big reason for my rating. But it was also pretty boring, maybe I felt that way because I have already watched two movies before this one and couldn’t really focus anymore. I think I picked a wrong time to watch this and I definitely need to rewatch it someday, because I see its potential and I would’ve appreciated it way more on a different day, trust me.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it was extremely boring. I couldn’t really focus on it. Especially the final game, that was painful. Just never-ending slow motion bits, all that suffering for the ending to not even be good. It seriously disappointed me. On the other hand, the plot had me kind of invested. I was expecting a little more romance between Art and Patrick, since this director made other queer movies like “Call me by your name” and “Queer”. I can admit that this movie is well made and I think one of the reasons I didn’t like it as much is because I don’t care for and don’t know anything about tennis. Do the players *actually* moan every time they hit the ball? To finish this off, I know what about I’m about to say is a very popular opinion, but I think *both* of the actors who played Art and Patrick could also play Roddy from Flushed Away.
