Had to hit the rewatch it’s just too good

This is such a shit movie but i watched it like 10 million times when i was little and i think it’s arguably in one of the greats. Great soundtrack and bad guy. Stupid Derek. My 7 year old self was genuinely like OH NO SHE TURNED INTO A SWAN!!!!! WHAT WILL SHE DO??!??! HE’S STUPID AND PRACTICING KILLING ANIMALS!!!! Not quite sure if it still held up but no more Mr. nice guy is still pretty awesome to watch. Derek is still stupid though. Some things don’t change ig…

After this i did a deep dive of the bling ring and was genuinely bewildered. Paris Hilton really did put her key under the mat. Like damn. They just walked right in. From a Sophia Coppola perspective i loved this. It’s detached and cold which is different. Emma Watson did a great job as a shallow spoiled rich girl but lowkey charming and really fun to watch. It’s also realistic in terms of ordinary people and Hollywood and felt like an accurate representation of what teenagers are like. Also the soundtrack was fun. I really liked that one scene of the first theft where the camera is static from a distance and all the action is implied by the lights going on in different rooms. Gave a nice feel to the scene. It was also such a fun watch which does play on what the guy said. America loves a Bonnie and Clyde!!!!!

The first half of this was so so good. It got me really tense. The rest kind of fell off because the dialogue was eh but i did enjoy this i love a period piece. I also love love love Keira Knightly. Briony did a good job of pissing me off. I’m guessing she kept that fuck ass haircut so she could stay a young girl who is still naive enough to think she can give her sister a “happy ending” when she genuinely caused her downfall. I will say i did like her character it was portrayed pretty well. Can’t say i would be jealous of my sister and her love and jump into a lake and sentence my unrequited love to die but that’s just me i think. I really enjoyed the plot i plan to read the book. Not really happy with the ending but that’s the point. I do think she did NOT atone for anything, seeing that she continued to fabricate lies and mistruths condescendingly even in old age to forgive herself. She ruins her sisters and Robbie’s life and then turns into a bestselling author. And says that giving them a happy ending is merciful. Like fuck off.
