Silence
I thought this film was beautiful, some of Scorsese's best work for sure. It explores how far people will go to keep their faith, but it also explores the controversy on how European countries would force their religion into places that have their own faith.
I also love how this film narrates the horror Rodrigues went through in terms of religious execution and how he ends up turning into the last thing he thought he would become - reminds me a lot of apocalypse now in that way.
Ultimately, Scorsese goes deeper than the surface with this film. Silence is a modern day masterpiece, especially with Andrew Garfield giving probably his best performance!
