A gritty, deep depiction of self-destruction, cultural identity and the quest for freedom. Both Ünel and Kekilli are hauntingly good in this. Both were able to capture the intensity of their relationship on screen incredibly well from how you see this marriage of convenience mature into this passionate, yet destructive bond. I’ve only ever watched Sibel Kekilli in GOT so was 100% stunned by how raw her performance was.
