The Shining
Was saving this film for when I wanted to watch a classic horror film and when I saw it was in theaters, I decided it was a good time to go see it. First of all every actor fully killed their roles; watching Jack slowly deteriorate was genuinely a masterclass in acting and so fun to watch. The scenery of this film and the moving shots both make this film so fun to watch and keeps you entertained. The hotel being somewhat alive definetly had me thinking it was going to play out stupid(haven’t read the book so no clue how it was going to play out); but Steven King and Stanley Kubrick really made it work. Was on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire film. The only thing holding this from the 5 star is the buildup of Dick having the shining and just conveniently delivering a snowmobile just to have him killed 10 seconds into walking into the hotel. This film was such a good watch and will definitely be rewatching in the future.
