Ran
a masterpiece in every sense of the word. every single little detail feels so meticulously crafted by Kurosawa. he has so much precise control here, just like a painter who spent countless hours on one piece. each of the several themes about war, betrayal, greed, etc is developed so well. each character is uniquely interesting and multifaceted. every huge action set piece is a marvel to watch and the edit perfectly goes along with it. The cinematography made me feel like i was discovering color for the first time.
this reminded me of why i love movies.
