i often think of scenes and lines and music from this movie and i think i didnt realise how much i do that i love this movies approach to batman - the noir filmmaking, action scenes, the score, dialogue, characters theres a few choices that feel safe rather than fitting the style of the story. the ending veers into conventional superhero movie climax after a lot of noir investigative drama although to be fair this watch was the first time i appreciated the ending more. it suits the development of batman's arc from vengeance as a motive to providing hope. realising who hes protecting and why, even though i think that in itself has also become a tired trope in superhero films recently. and i always enjoyed that the climax is a direct reference to zero year in the comics (love zero year) so excited for part ii so we can rlly see what matt reeves wants to be doing. disappointed its taken so long and doubt we end up getting the third at this point but still keen af

its not as good as weapons but theres a lot of interesting elements that r clearly part of creggers style and u can see clear progession in that style from here to weapons the ending rlly lands it tho people r evil & no mercy for rapists

how did she do the blocking so well while acting at the same time

its real not that bad but these last two toy story movies have the formula of just the characters meandering about and everything sucks for literally everyone and then u get a heartwarming reunion and everything gets fixed and the endings do a lot of heavy lifting and they r admittedly very sweet and the characters r goated but dam they r missing a certain magic now :(
