The actors killed it with this one . Every second of Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal on screen were amazing. The children had no right to be this good . Hamnet and Judith last scene together was phenomenal and Agnes was the cherry on top to that scene. Even other minor characters like Susanna or Mary were also good. Really enjoyed them.
While the "To Be or Not To Be" reveal wasn't as much as a reveal to me as I knew before watching the film that it was about William Shakespeare but still it hit hard bro. It hit. This and the play too really leaves a bitter sweet taste in your mind. To see how far does loss impact a parent , wether it was Agnes or William. Truely Astonishing.
This film as a whole gave me a new found appreciation to William Shakespeare that school curriculums really didn't help with by giving us the worst iterations of King Lear or The Merchant of Venice. Overall, a definite recommendation. It opened my eyes to the enchanting and spiritual tale of Shakespeare and Agnes that I hope to learn and see more about.
