The Invite

similarly to the way the drama revitalizes the neurotic comedy of the late 1960s, the invite creates a refreshingly but not overwhelmingly modern take on bob and carol and ted and alice (and more broadly the psychosexual chamber piece). i can't remember the last time seen this much of a comeback from a director between just two films--i was just talking about how i almost asked for my money back after seeing don't worry darling! also, we paused i saw the devil halfway through to go catch an evening screening of this. we contain multitudes 😎
