My fourth Wong Kar Wai film and apart from fallen angels I believe it to be his masterpiece when people think of his films “in the mood for love” is always mentioned making this movie completely overshadowed so at first I was a bit hesitant to even watch it but I could never be so wrong a direct sequel was done so well many years after the events of in the mood for love the main character finds himself at a crossroads he had become nothing but lust his only intention with women was sex and the idea of love had long flown away but he still thinks he cannot express his feelings loudly to others so instead he writes stories and the characters that represent his past experiences and how he truly feels a brilliant way to transcribe it. Through out the film he’s hurt someone just like how he was hurt and eventually he manages to catch feelings but for someone who has already fallen in love with someone else. That is the tragedy of the main character so he realizes and rights his wrongs and chooses to remain alone for the unforeseen future. A complex  script executed so perfectly and plus in a wong kar wai film he cannot expect anything normal.  “I slowly began to doubt myself. Maybe the reason she didn't answer was not that her reactions were delayed but simply that she didn't love me. So at last, I got it. It's entirely beyond my control. The only thing left for me... was to give up.”
