Interstellar

ok debrief i was going into it with high hopes anyway and it definitely didn't disappoint. the first 50 minutes was the usual slow sludge and introduction but obviously necessary but i still really enjoyed it. loved how Tom was just neglected and clearly the least favourite child but that's by the by. Also noticed that Mackenzie Foy has a thing for being in films orientated around a "ghost". anyway as we move onto the part regarding going into space and the missions, the whole Miller's planet and the line "those aren't mountains, they're waves" UGH so good trust. no offence btw but that guy deserved to die if you're going to take that long to get into the ship when you have some 50000 ft wave tapping on your left shoulder not really going to feel empathetic but that's by the by. MATT DAMON. lord i LOVE Matt so much and he was definitely playing the role to the absolute limit because he was properly pissing me off. I adore TARS, sweet thing. obviously the visuals were absolutely immaculate i genuinely couldn't process some of the scalings and images it was just insane. OMG Hans of course absolutely delivering it with the fucking music SO GOOD i was profusely sweating at one point which moves us onto the whole bookshelf scene and black hole situation. that however long was just perfect the whole cyclical structure and it coming together perfectly was just YES PLEASE. the structure of the whatever dimension we were in was really well crafted and reminded me a lot of inception. the whole morse code scene was amazing just the way he interacted from his dimension to where Murph was was curated so well. it played into the structure of the dimensions and didn't just take the easy route of like sticking his hand through and moving the wheel he used the like idk dimensional string thingies. THEN the whole full circle to Anne's charcater touching fingers with Cooper was also so good. So glad he got reunited with Murph as just showed the extent of the sacrifices both of them had to pay to save humanity and that no matter how much they had suffered and lost time with one another that never changed their belief in one another and their relationship. overall thought this was astounding especially for 2014
