A Perfect World
Probably one of the best movies of all time in my eyes.
I remember the first time I saw this, when I was around 10 or so. I used to sleep with my grandma and she kept the tv going all night. I woke up in the very early morning hours (as happened a lot when I was a kid) and this happened to be on cable at the time. I remember staying awake to watch it to the end and having the same feeling I have now. Adoration, grief, but also amazement. Of course, after a while it slipped into the back of my mind and felt more like a fever dream than anything. I saw it once more after that, and this is my third time.
I randomly remembered this existed and wanted to watch it. Im at a point in life where if I cant stream something for free, I just buy it. So I ordered the blu ray of this, and got the chance to watch it after studying tonight. And even now, after almost a decade I STILL have so much love for this movie. Its so genuine and organic, not very technical at all, and yet it packs such a heavy punch. During the last 15 mintues i had a huge lump in my throat, just like when i was younger. The story is so tragic and beautiful.
I dont have enough good things to say about this movie, its definitely an underrated gem and I think everyone should I know should watch it. And now i think of it, this movie is one of the reasons im such a movie person now. Supa supa good!
