Good Boy
65th movie in theaters this year:)
Really interesting actually!
It definitely did feel like an indy (hehe) film, but its a step in the right direction. It was such a new perspective in which to tell a story, and I really appreciate creatives stepping out of the box to make something like this.
It had its flaws, but ngl I shed a tear or two near the end. Indy the dog had a wondeful screen presence, and he was only able to do that with good direction. The little tidbit at the end where the director shares bts stories was really sweet to me. I love to support deserving indie artists (since its the only way new faces can break in, and nobody starts out perfect) and this definitely deserves it.
Im not too sure what else people were expecting from a 1 hour directorial debut indie horror film where the lead actor is a dog and crew of less than 20 people. Im not even sure what I expected, but i respect it. In fact, i was pleasantly surprised to find that it was really neat!
