The Lighthouse
The lighthouse is perhaps about alot:
Maybe, the affects of capitalism and how Thomas pushed Tommy to madness through endless work. Maybe, the fear in God fearing and how they were both pushed to madness and their fear of God. Maybe, how guilt affects people, both had secrets and they both had theirs 'spilled' pushing them to the edge. Maybe, the generational gap, how the old push down on the young. Maybe, the challenge between the search of meaning and curiosity against the search of the search of laziness and safety.
The lighthouse is a film about maybe one, two or all of those things, it's a horror film that relies on the little amount of answers that it gives, that reflects on me discussing the meaning of life on a stormy island. Perfect acting on both parts, perfect cinematography, costume design and set production, well directed. Goddamn perfect film
