After Hours
Scorsese's best, where do I begin.
After Hours is a never-ending rollercoaster, constantly spiraling, each turn more frantic than the last. Its frustrating, witty, creative, action packed, immersive, ambitious, surreal, audacious and downright hypnotic.
New York at night becomes a character itself with visually entrancing shots pushing you deeper into your seat.
On paper this movie shouldnt work but on screen Scorsese crafts something completely unique, which just highlights the range of his directing abilities. Its Blue Velvet on steroids ( Sorry David Lynch your still goated although you did sign the polanski petition plonker)
