Logan
It’s honestly a shame that Logan was nominated for only 1 Academy Award.
It’s a film that transcended the comic-book genre in every way. A film that cannot only arguably be called the greatest comic-book film ever made, but one of the greatest films of all time.
MASTERPIECE.
Everytime I rewatch Logan, I am just amazed at the level that James Mangold is working here. Like the audacity to first give us a Wolverine film in a Yukuza setting in The Wolverine and then switch to a western in this is just mind boggling.
Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, & Dafne Keen all deserved to be nominated for an Academy Award and arguably win. They were operating at levels we’ve yet to surpass.
