Squid Game
It’s a piece of art that showcases the full spectrum of humanity. It deeply delves into how the rich view poor people as disposable objects which can be used for entertainment, in the most sick and twisted ways possible. Comparing them to race horses, “Humans are…” I think that was left for personal interpretation, an ambiguous ending. For me, I think (and bear with me), as the games go on, players sort of lose their sense of reality, kind of an “Eye on the prize” mentality where nothing really matters anymore except surviving, and some would do anything to survive, survival instincts basically, so the line between them being humans and animals fighting for survival sort of blurs, because like I said, they would do anything. Which also happened in the Brothers Home, which is a real tragedy that inspired Squid Game, survivors from Brothers Home have said that they weren’t humans anymore, and when they left they had to learn to be human again. So when the players are compared to race horses, whats one thing that could prove the difference between them? I think it’s free will, as shown in the series, the guy who killed himself because he did not want to be their “lunch box” that’s free will. And at the very end when Gi-Hun decided to kill himself instead of claiming his victory and accepting winning the games, if that makes sense?
Also the VIP’s are so silly I wish they were more serious like in season 1.
( what do you mean “mama mia” 😭)
