The Brutalist

my thoughts in order: oh my god this is beautiful I need more art movies NOWWW ironically reminds me of The House That Jack Built in the way that its brutally self indulgent in an artists life (which is beautiful btw I support it) but also surrounding something that is above them. this movie is a bit more defined in that regard in that it is actually something transcendental, an actual building of multiple processes and machines above it, rather than just the notion of art. i loved the intermission it was unique and it captivated me a bit the second half was extremely beautiful, it moved away from the captivating beauty of being just purely thrill into slowly settling into the discomfort of being in a place where ideology, power, and many people do not want you. this entire thing was so beautifully well done 10000000000/10
