Harakiri
The holy grail of letterboxd. The number one rated movie. Coming into this, I only wanted to watch it because it was the highest ranked movie. I did not think I was going to love it or even like it. But man it really does earn its place on the greatest of all time list. This movie has everything. It has a complex, emotional storyline that really showcases the evils of the people in charge of morally right principles in the world, a haunting allegory for the politics around the world today. It shows heartbreak and what a father would be willing to do to avenge his loved ones. It has some amazing sequences in terms of its directing, especially with the duel with Tsugomo and Omodaka. The score in this movie also kicks ass, giving the right amount of tension to scenes when needed.
As you can see, I love this movie and Im giving it a 99/100.
