I was borderline gonna jump through the screen myself to solve this thing, right when you think they were getting closer to finding the murderer something just has to go sideways. dead ends and plot twists. that ending however was spectacular and that last look towards the camera is cemented in my mind. *“Just…ordinary.”*

the psychological warfare this film puts you through makes you feel like a psychology student. I didn’t fully understand what happened towards the end but it’s so interesting how feeble we can be to manipulation and how our minds are the thing we fight against the most. It starts by letting the condensation drops fall until the whole glass just tips over, we can lose ourselves to our own internal pressure and wants but just how far can those things push us towards the edge?

idc if this is an unpopular opinion but I love this movie and I think it is so much better than the 1984 original. Jackie, Jaden, and Taraji’s acting was great and the emotionality of this movie really ties it together. only complaint is why would you keep “karate” if my boy is learning kung fu.

the switch of the different pov’s and them all connecting together was such a fun and smart way to show the narrative and tie the strings together, I felt like I was playing a mystery game amy madigan’s acting was phenomenal too
