Annie
this movie means so much to me and it is the best version out of all of them and I don’t plan to discuss it with anyone. I probably have watched this over 30 times since I was around 6 and I cry every damn time.
Not only did this movie taught me my love for musicals, but it taught me about hope, about how it can be an option.
Annie believes in hope with a kind of stubborn sincerity that feels almost radical. It’s a movie about a child who has every reason to be bitter, yet chooses optimism anyway, not because life is easy, but because believing in “tomorrow” is the only way she survives today. Annie isn’t naïve; she’s resilient. Her hope is an act of courage.
Thank you to my dad for showing me this one too, I love you like annie loves Mr. Warbucks <3
