This movie just felt like a mess. Laurie strode embodies her mom Sheri Moon which wasn’t very likeable to me in the first movie. There something about her coming back on that white horse that I just didn’t like. I like the first act but the 2/3rd fell flat for me. This was a nice slasher flick, but a underwhelming Halloween movie.

This is a Rob-Zombied Halloween to the core. It’s tone, the approach, and casting of characters doesn’t feel like the classic Halloween. Rob’s version pretty much stripped the mystery of Michael Myers, going more into the psychology of young Michael. Grown Michael was jacked and looked like Kane from the WWE. There was some nice kills, cool visuals, and I had a good time. Not the best remake but not as bad as they say, I enjoy Rob Zombie movies though.

Dakota Fanning was pretty good in this. I like the “my baby” song too. Just a less than mediocre horror. The extremely loud sound of a vibrating phone ring doesn’t cut it. This seems like it was a metaphor horror type of movie. Enough with “the box” horrors, we get it, it’s just makes me think of all the movies that did it better. There was nothing as a viewer to sink your teeth into, no lore, and the box was a such a picky little bitch. There was something there I wasn’t completely bored, this just wavered and got corny way too fast for my liking.

This was my first watch of Carrie and it’s a shame it’s taken this long to get around to it. I think this was a genuinely phenomenal film. De Palma directed the the shit out of this movie, so many effective shots with unique touches. The score was different than what I was expecting, damn near poetic in certain scenes. The story, visuals, and pacing were excellent. The actual prom dance itself might be one of my new favorite horror scenes of all time.
