After the showings of humor on The King of Comedy I knew absurdist black comedy Scorcese would be a great fit for me but HOLYFUCKINGSHIT I had no idea how much I needed this movie in my life. Absolute riot from beginning to end and the way almost every single side character popped up multiple times to do different stuff was really funny. Scorcese is a fucking genius.

I understand and appreciate what its going for. The cinematography is great, and the audio design is really unlike anything else. Sadly, though, I just don't think the film grabbed me. I just simply don't think its going to linger with me all that much, maybe the fact that a movie like this exists will but the actual things I saw won't. Also, I know this is probably one of those films that gets better as I think about it, and maybe even on rewatches, but as of right now I can't say much more. Still, I'm glad I watched it.

proves that marvel really dropped the ball by not having more Elseworld-esque projects during the peak of the MCU era. Visually inventive and emotionally gripping. Like it a lot 👍
