THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A FUCKING MOVIE! Like wow- I’m transformed. I’m literally not the same person I was 100 minutes ago. It was fun, it was thrilling, it was gay, it was bizarre, it was everything I’ve always wanted. Théodore Pellerin steals the whole fucking show with his intensely creepy performance and Archie Madekwe makes for a very engaging opposite.
Love the dialogue and how awkward it is and the colour grading is excellent.
My favourite thing is just how fat it all is. Like wow, the subtle movements and intense stares, that bedroom scene, and then the other bedroom scene!!! It’s so fucking delicious and adds a psychosexual layer to the film that I was very much in the mood for.
Shame that this flew under the radar because it’s excellent and should be celebrated more. But I’m very excited for this to be the cult film that queer people gush over decades later.
Also I made a list inspired by this film called House of psychotic men!
