Sicario

Sicario is a film that I did not fully understand at first. I absolutely enjoyed it but the messages and themes were possibly too mature for my age. The immense Hypocrisy of the American government fighting the war on drugs is fully expressed. Emily Blunt's Kate has to revel with this Hypocrisy as the CIA turns into the same monsters it is trying to stop. Roger Deakins's cinematography is excellent and draws many similarities to his work in No Country for Old Men. Del Toro delivers his best performance to date as Alejandro a character that seriously develops throughout the film. For me, a rewatch in the future will provide a more knowledgable understanding of the dark ethics behind the film but until then.
