I put off watching this for so long because I wanted to read the book first, but I couldn't wait any longer. I liked this film very much and I am sure I will love the book even more. Jane Eyre is everything I expected her to be, and instantly became one of my all time favorite characters. This film made me feel so many intense emotions. The scene after the fire changed something inside of me. Beautiful film.

I knew within the first few minutes of this film that I would fall in love with it. It took me a while to truly understand the dynamic of Reynolds and Alma's relationship, but once I finally did, I was able to appreciate how weirdly, but deeply romantic it is. This film is beautiful in every aspect. I admire Alma's courage in challenging everyone else, in order to love her own way - something I would not be able to do, partly out of fear and partly because I understand Reynolds. Their relationship may be unconventional but I think they're perfect for each other.

The content of the box was extremely predictable, I knew exactly what it was as soon as they mentioned who the package was for. I felt bad for Mills, he was an easy victim for manipulation and I wanted to scream at him not to listen.

This film felt quite strange to me, I don't think I was able to grasp what the point was. The scenes from the book were very immersive and stressful, making you forget it was fiction (inside fiction). And the character of Tony Hastings was incredibly frustrating, because he was too slow to react - but I guess that's how Edward saw himself, influenced by the things Susan often told him.
