Some of the designs and colors of the film were cool at times.

Still one of the most haunting and beautiful movies I’ve ever watched.

It is your basic big, loud 1990s action flick, chaotic, sweaty, full of explosions. But I’ve got to say, the City Hunter and all the Predator stuff were really cool at times. The last act especially was pretty great. Some moments worked nicely, but overall… it was just okay. Okay movie.

Goodness; this was such a heart-stopping film. Talk about horror; it really took it to another level. It’s tight, brilliantly filmed, and executed with such incredible technique. I don’t think any CGI could ever make it better. And that ending .. wow. I’m still out of words trying to make sense of it. The paranoia, the claustrophobic nature of it all .. it’s haunting. I can’t stop thinking about what allegories the movie might be playing with. In Nope by Jordan Peele, the creature is Hollywood and the audience, but here I wonder what this creature stands for. Maybe fear itself, maybe human mistrust. It isn’t easy to come across a five-star movie, a film I utterly believe is perfect. At least these days, it’s nearly impossible for something to completely surprise me, thrill me, and truly captivate me. But The Thing did it all.
