"When a man reaches forty, he has no chance to die beautifully. No matter how he tries, he will die of decay. He must compel himself to live"

"When a man reaches forty, he has no chance to die beautifully. No matter how he tries, he will die of decay. He must compel himself to live"

An exploration of two diametrically opposed characters in their view on the world in post-war Poland. Ida is preparing to take her vows to become a nun, while her Aunt lives a life in complete absence of God. It may not even be a disbelief, more-so she believes God abandoned her altogether. As they search for the remains of Ida’s parents, who she never met, there’s a silent curiosity that is imprinted on her and begins to take shape as you see her questioning her worldview. What would this other life look like. Is this modern life too foreign to ever be a reality.
