Twelve Monkeys

Honestly came into it with low expectations, the beginning was confusing and underwhelming. Then, everything changes. Brad Pitt’s performance is literally stellar, nothing short of incredible and maniacal. Bruce Willis (while the character frustratingly difficult at times) morphs into this insanely deep and easy to root for character. How he pulls Madeleine Stowe in this movie is pretty much my only quarrel.  Speaking of Madeleine Stowe, her and Willis had insane chemistry. I was so nervous towards the finale, and for good reason, this love story was beautifully written. I was heartbroken by the ending, and even though, humanity was saved (spoiler), I couldn’t help but feel like this movie didn’t get the happy ending it truly deserved.  A perfect film in the entertainment meaning, not perfect for the great but not happy ending.
