Babylon

I fully understand the criticisms of this film, I do. It wears its influences on its sleeve, trims no fat whatsoever and is surprisingly bad at developing its characters, most of whom are played by all world actors.
With the being said, the first 1.75 hours of this 3 hour film is about as entertaining as it gets.
The movie glided by with style as it sequences from the opening party scene, to scenes of nelly and conrad filming their movies, to nelly and manny meeting back up, nelly filming her first movie with sound and then finally their fight with the snake. All of these sequences combined to make me feel like I was in for a rollercoaster that wouldnt give me space to breathe.
then pitts monologue happens. and margot robbie's monologue happens right after. and then it’s the old writers turn to give a pretentious monologue which leads us into the tobey maguire bit which was funny, but felt out of the place.
overall the first two hours of this contains some great film making, but I wasnt psyched with the final hour.
with that being said the final scene is beautiful
