Saving Private Ryan

I never got round to watching the film for years. This according to some was Spielbergs magnum opus. While I wouldn’t say I enjoyed the film the most of all Spielberg’s, it is still fantastic. The cast is huge, Matt Damon had a surprisingly small role which I didn’t expect. You get a real connection with the troopers on the mission and genuinely get upset when characters like Caparzo and Wade die. The only thing I would say is that the mission itself is a bit unrealistic, would the military seriously waste resources, troops and time on saving one boy who’s siblings were killed in action?
