I invite those giving this film a 3 1/2 and yet raving about every aspect of it to save yourself some storage and delete this app, please. Guillermo del Toro squeezed every drop of emotion into the bell curve that is understanding the human condition. Sure he directed Pan’s Labyrinth, but he also did Puss in Boots. I see this as the lovechild of the two, naturally spurred on by a bug-eyed Gene Wilder sitting in a chair in the corner yelling incessantly and incoherently. It’s not what you like, it’s when you can understand from the director.
