Gladiator

*It’s always the movies you don’t expect to have weird sex scenes that have weird sex scenes… * To start I just want to say fuck Joaquin Phoenix. I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all but like fuck him. But besides that Gladiator is a masterpiece through and through. From the visuals to the score to the performances it’s easy to see why it is the all time classic it’s hailed as. Hans Zimmer should be in charge of making music for every movie ever from now on. His score carries the scenes and provides lots more depth to them. Russell Crowe is brilliant in a role that really doesn’t have him acting with his words per se or more his actions and expressions. And like I previously mentioned Joaquin Phoenix sucks and that’s what makes you love his performance. He is a douchebag character and the hatred you have for him only makes you love his performance more. And even side performances from people like Dijimon Hounsou and Ralf Moeller have impact on the story. A story that fits really well into the run time. Not a dull moment at all in this movie. Overall, besides some small dislikes I have for the slow-motion segments in some of the fight scenes I truly do love this movie. I am sorry to the people in my life for throwing it off for so long and not watching it sooner.
