The Thing

If only Windows made it till the end, he was my favorite… John Carpenters “The Thing” was one I had been meaning to watch for a while. Tonight was that night. And oh boy did it not disappoint. Possibly the greatest horror movie ever arguably. The Thing provides a sense of fear like no other in a movie. From the incredible acting to the amazing score which is playing. I’m telling you this is what is missing from modern horror flicks.  Besides all that what is really working in this movies favor is the setting and the idea behind all of this. They are in the middle of the Antarctic with no help to call. They are trying to find out this things identity and qualities on the go. They don’t have time to breathe and are constantly in suspicions of each other. In terms of being horror it nails that aspect. And what is also a big standout in this is that these guys aren’t stupid. They are playing a losing game but trying their damn hardest to win it. They aren’t making bone headed decisions, they are doing logical things. Overall, The Thing stands out amongst other horror movies for truly working. It is a perfect masterpiece.
