the dr evil and his son bit might be one of the best comedy bits ever

if only stephen gave this story the amount of love he gave the first one. i remembered loving the book because it was so big and less was known about the island. hot take, but this story could’ve even been better than the original. that is had the writing been so much better. the san diego bit is so stupid and pointless, leave the story on isla sorna. write the characters better cause every character is so underdeveloped. i frankly thought all the antagonists were boring and annoying and most of the protagonists were just boring. nick van owen is so cool and so are ian malcolm and sarah harding. make them more interesting, give us more context or development or something. the spectacle is there, because i loved the scenes where they were getting chased by the raptors in the field and those big action scenes on the island. emphasize the landscape and the scope and the wildlife and that kind of danger.

actually holds up incredibly well. for a sci fi comedy, the writing is very good. like not just funny lines but actually good dialogue. i love this movie!!!

major watch for a journalism major. god do i love robert redford. pakula knows his shit.
