I have listened almost exclusively to Melbourne or Sydney based podcasts for years, so I spent a lot of this trying to place the various Australian comedian voices I could vaguely recognise.

Watched the colorised version on tubi and it was gorgeous, like a lost technicolor masterpiece. Whenever anyone was smoking reefer, each individual joint smoked a different bright vivid colour. It looked like *The Umbrellas of Cherbourg*.

Bloated glitterslop. Nothing in here that wasn’t implied by the end of the first film, just a bunch of vague character motivations, soft stakes and half a dozen indistinguishable songs that sound almost exactly like but aren’t “Defying Gravity”.

I saw this on tv as a curious pre-teen and remembered it as this salacious and lewd movie about hot girls dancing. Watching it now, the dancing is actually super tame and basic, but they do set the bar on fire and violently hack off customers’ ponytails as a bit, which is far more concerning from a legal and ethical perspective than shakin’ ass to a jeering crowd.
