Vertigo
I was binge-watching House MD, and then I felt like watching a movie. For those who don’t know, there’s a character named Wilson (played by Robert Sean Leonard), and in his office, he’s always had this big Vertigo poster.
I’d been waiting for the perfect time to dive into Alfred Hitchcock’s films, and I thought, why not now?
I never expected to like Vertigo this much. Hitchcock really is that guy, and I can’t wait to watch more of his work.
A thing I noticed about Hitchcock is how he presents a character. Each one has some odd quirk or behavior that instantly gives you a deep insight into who they are, and I absolutely loved that.
The obsession the main character had was executed so well,we went through all the stages with him and saw how it shaped his character. But there was something that kept you on your feet, and I already can’t wait to rewatch the movie to notice everything I could have missed and to understand it better.
One character I came to deeply care for was Judy. Even though her heart genuinely fell in love, the man she loved was confused. And in the end, she tried to become what he loved.
They both ended up obsessed with someone they had never truly even met.
