> *“Here’s looking at you, kid” *I watched this entire thing before my plane even took off so I’m not very happy about that but this is such a great film. It’s shot so beautifully and Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart are amazing. This deserves all the praise it gets *“Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”*

> *“A place for everything and everything in its place.”* Such a beautiful movie. I wish it showed more of some parts that are only described by the narrator but besides that I thought this was so great. Amanda Seyfried was fucking superb in this. She gave herself fully to this role physically and emotionally. I can’t believe she didn’t get an Oscar nom. Lewis Pullman is also very very good. The sets, score, songs, costumes, cinematography is all fucking incredible. It felt much more engaging than The Brutalist, though after this I might need to revisit that one. Movies regarding religion don’t tend to captivate me that much, but this one really did. The analogy that God is male and female as we are made in his image and likeness makes so much sense. Even if I don’t agree with the beliefs of the Shakers, I would be a much more active participant in my religion if it had that much singing and dancing. Great film and I can’t wait to see what Corbet and Fastvold cook up next. Searchlight you will suffer for fucking this up.

> *“You killed me a hundred times. Have you forgotten? I'm a zombie. One of the living dead.”*The fucking ending was incredible. The last twenty minutes were incredible. This movie goes seamlessly from funny to dark. Mariam Afshari is the highlight of this movie for me. That scene where she is talking to Egbhar was amazing. But the entire cast was very good in this. This film shows the corruption of a government and the effect it has on people through all of the characters. We see how much they dread and fear the regime after what it did to them. Jafar Panahi fucking cooked here and I can’t believe F1 got into best picture instead of this

> *“I’m huge baby”*Its a cute film and I won’t lie, it did get me a little emotional, especially at the end, but it was way to long. This could’ve been 90 minutes but for some reason it’s 2 hours (and it definitely feels like it). Besides that, this story is very inspirational and teaches you to never give up, no matter what is thrown at you. This is one of those biopics that don’t feel real, but you just have to go with it bc you know it actually happened. Hugh Jackman does good but Kate Hudson is the shining star of this film. She is very good and maybe her only performance that can even get close to the genius that was her as Penny Lane. I still don’t get the Oscar nom tho. It’s entertaining, your dad will love it, ur mom will cry to it, and that’s probably what this was made for
