I was confused for 70% of this movie but when it all clicks that feeling is so cool.

Utterly boring and uninteresting, I understand the idea behind the minimalist style but I still dislike it. The cinematography is so barely serviceable, the characters are for the most part simple and don’t push me in any way, and there is a complete lack of anything that makes cinema special to me. The only redeeming factors are the couple of action seasons are mildly entertaining and the villains are decent, apart from that this was super disappointing for me and the accents that people seem to love got old fast. From my understanding the idea here is to portray murders from a daily life type of aesthetic but… why?

This movie is such a fun time but unfortunately the parts that aren’t getting technical or relating to baseball are only barely serviceable. I don’t care much for baseball as a sport but this movie tricked me for 2 hours into thinking that baseball is cool again.

When I finished La Haine I had no idea what I was going to rate it or even how to rate it. The soundtrack, the visuals, the cinematography, and the characters are all great, but I while I was watching looking at the time in the day ticking down and the time pass in the world of La Haine I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. I kept waiting for the big climax, a riot, a shootout, something, anything, and it never came, until it did. The ending of this film will stick with me for a long long time. Not all tragedies are part of some huge conflict they happen in an instant when you least expect it. La Haine truly subverted my expectations in a way that very few films can.
