The Outsiders
The Outsiders directed Francis Ford Coppola is a good movie. Its an adaptation of the book (titled the same) by S. E. Hinton. The movie isn't nearly as good as the book but by itself its simply good.
The casting is not very accurate to the book (except Ralph Maccio, Diane Lane, and Patrick Swayze that I can recall.) I both boo the casting (for this very reason) and applaud it since there are so many names that turned big after this film and each cast memeber is quite talented.
I felt that there were some things kept in this film for the audience of readers but from the perspective of a person who hasn't read the book a lot of the lines seems unimportant. They almost lead to another plot when a scene appears to be wrapping up.
All in all, this film depicts a sad yet beautiful outlook on the hardships people go through that we may not notice and how communitiy is really everything. The story of The Outsiders truly is gold.
