“You cannot win a nuclear war”
What an absolutely horrifying watch, from then sense of impending and inevitable disaster created by the radio and tv noise in the first half, to the destruction in the second. I was very close to turning it off in the hospital sequence, definitely the hardest scene i’ve ever had to watch. The constant screams and sickening injuries shown. I’m definitely didn’t enjoy this film, but it showed what it was trying to show pretty much perfectly. Puts a whole new level to ‘ill never watch again’ and nothing i’ve seen comes even remotely close.
Nobody on earth could still agree with nuclear weaponry after seeing this, the luckiest people were the ones taken out by the original blast. I had the view that nuclear weapons should be destroyed before seeing this, and the film just makes the feeling stronger.
One of the most scary movies ever made, and the fact that this could happen at any point in the real world makes it much much worse.
