The Tree of Life is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. It might even be the most beautifully done movie ever made. The cinematography is absolutely stunning. Every shot looks like art. The light, nature and small human moments are filmed in such powerful and gentle way that I was left speechless. The film focuses on love, grace, forgiveness, pain and faith. It shows the difference between living with kindness and living with pride and control. And it makes you think about which path you choose in your life. What makes the film special is the reflective, present day feeling. It feels like we are looking at memories through the eyes of an adult who is trying to understand childhood, trauma and spiritual questions. The past and present mix together in a very emotional and meaningful way. Also this was the third film I have seen by Terrence Malick and it is clearly the best.
