Obsession
First and foremost I have to glaze the acting of Nikki's actress. She was absolutely phenomenal. Her ability to change between absolute psychosis and completely normal state was brilliant. The shadows worked great with building uncertainty of how Nikki will react to any situation. I find myself multiple times just searching the dark screen where could she be hiding and then, she would suddenly pop out, bringing immediate fear with her. I could definitely see her taking home an award for the best actress. Even though she was definitely the one who stole the spotlight all of the other actors weren't bad at all. All of the supporting cast got a little to none screen time so there isn't much to discuss, but the main character brought believable range of emotions brigning the whole film to life. The plot is pretty basic but that is the thing that makes it so good, you kinda know where all of this is going and yet, it is exhilirating each and every second. This was my second horror that I watched in cinema. first being Weapons, which had some scenes, but wasn't scary at all. You could argue that it wasn't much scary, but the never ending build up of atmosphere made me almost shit my pants multiple times. Plus adding jumpscares that fit so well made the entire experience even more haunting. Overall maybe the single greatest horror experience I have witnessed in my film watching journey. Guess I'll start watching more horrors like these, like this.
