Inception
I guess I lost my mind while watching this movie cause it was quite complicated and also captivating.
First of all I think there's nothing as wonderful as being a part of a dream.
Being in a space as vast as a human mind must be unexpected though.
And this was portrayed quite clearly in the movie.
When you start watching the movie and the interwoven dreams begin it gets confusing.
But the confusion is resolved as it becomes clear step by step that each dream is actually a transitional stage.
Of course, timing is a critical factor in dreams which makes this experience even more compelling. I found the characters' perspectives and their ability to find a solution even under stress very impressive.
But I think the best part of the movie was the final scene was left open to the viewer's interpretation.
I think the spinning top continued to spin in the end. Because I think that reunion scene we saw in the final scene was a reflection of his subconscious, not real. Besides his children were wearing the same clothes from his memory. And the children hadn't grown up at all. Yes a very short time in the world corresponds to a much longer time in the dream so there's a chance that it might be real but still I think his children would have grown up at least a little bit.
Mal said in one scene that it was impossible to distinguish between reality and dreams that dreams had become our reality.
I disagree with what Mal said at first as I thought she was crazy, I still think the same but looking at the last scene makes her approach isn't illogical.
From this perspective, Dom always had his children in his subconscious and he was so focused on them because of his longing that he didn't even wait for the spinning top to stop because he no longer cared whether it was reality or a dream. In a way, he had locked away his own reality like Mal did. He was happy to see his children's faces.
Nevertheless I hope the last scene is real.
