lowkey a cute movie. funny, sweet and comforting. the sprouse twins were adorable and i love adam sandler. (if he adopted me i’d wanna stay with him too)

i really enjoyed this film. everything felt natural, and the music scenes were great. it just flows really well. while watching, i kept thinking about how timothée chalamet prepared for this role for 5 years… and it really shows. i also liked monica barbaro and elle fanning, and edward norton was amazing, he felt so genuine and warm. really funny to think i watched every interview of timothée for this, but i was saving the film for when it would actually mean something... (guilty of not watching this sooner for absolutely no reason)

this felt so real it was almost uncomfortable at times. i loved adam sandler’s performance. the way he expressed everything in a passive-aggressive way, made so much sense considering everything he went through as a kid. i also loved the piano scenes and his relationship with his daughter. ben stiller’s character kind of annoyed me at first, but seeing him try to get close with his family again made me sympathize with him. and honestly with all of them and their dynamic. it was hard to watch the way the dad treated danny and jean, how distant and unfair he was…… i mean he couldn’t even listen to them, like danny was trying to say something to him, and he would change the subject and keep talking about himself. and that moment at the end when matthew realizes the story his dad always told was wrong. he said they made the piece together, the one named after matthew, but it was actually about danny. danny was the one who was there for him all along…. that really got me. finally, i liked how the film gave space to each member of the family, showing their perspective in each part. the only thing i didn’t like… the daughter’s films. what was that.

there will never be another artist like michael jackson. and jafar jackson… wow. such an incredible performance. the way he sings and moves?? he couldn’t have done it any better. he didn’t just imitate him, he captured his essence. i love michael so much, his music hits different on a big screen, every performance felt iconic. pd: seeing miles teller was a random surprise, i loved it.
