Waves
God this is seriously just one of those films for me... Decided on a rewatch because I finished Forever (2025) last night and the soundtrack and general vibe of the show reminded me how much I loved this film when I first watched it last summer.
The colours, the photography, the costuming, even some of the performances seriously just wows me!! It seriously isn't even anything revolutionary but this film just does it so well for me that I actually can't let it go unappreciated. It also wasn't until this rewatch that I learned that the score was also done by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - what the fuckkkk??? Got so excited to see that following their major success with Challengers (2024) and soon Tron: Ares (2025).
Overall Waves (2019) is seriously just so human in a way that I love - yes it isn't a perfect film by any means but I find myself able to appreciate it for what it is.
