Beautiful Boy

Thought I was in for a laugh with Steve Carell??  I just uncontrollably sobbed for a bit. This film is so relentlessly brutal in how you have hope and then it’s ripped away, which reflects how addiction is such a long battle. I liked how there wasn’t a so called happy ending, more realistic than other addiction representation I’ve seen. So many quotes from this film will stay with me for a long time. Great performances from the whole cast.  Using John Lennon will always break my heart, and felt like a hate crime to my mental wellbeing for the rest of the week.
