Resident Evil

i have never seen any of the other movies or played the games, so i wasn’t sure what i would think of this movie. however, i can officially say that i think it was really fucking good! while obsession is still my top horror movie of the year, this one got pretty close to beating it. austin abrams was fantastic and i think the movie would not have been as good if there was another actor playing the main character. i can totally see why people who wanted a more serious tone wouldn’t love the movie, but for me personally, the humor hit every time. resident evil was simultaneously one of the scariest movies i’ve seen and one of the funniest.
