yeah it’s not as good as first watch where i cried, but it was fun! i do not like jinu still, thought that storyline was kinda mediocre, but i did like the songs and the dynamic between the girls! and bobby of course. it’s a fun animated movie and im really glad it got recognition, but im less glad about how overplayed the songs are now.

You know. You KNOW how this will end. You know what will happen between the two of them. You just know that it won't end well. And yet, it still kills you to see the world tear Marianne and Heloise apart. In many ways, this movie is so similar to La La Land, but instead of connection through goals and ambition, the love shown between these two women is built completely on intimacy and their understandings of each other. They truly see each other as they learn more about each other, and the movie focuses on little details like the way each woman moves her face as tells for how she's feeling. It makes each expression seem so intentional, and the ending so much more upsetting. This movie does foreshadowing incredibly well, and its callbacks feel so earned and meaningful, especially the connection to Orpheus and Eurydice. Marianne paints the ending of that story, portraying Orpheus in blue (like herself) and Eurydice in the ghostly white that Heloise wore when Marianne left. She tries to claim that memory of Heloise and the final fleeting moment, but the illusion is broken when she sees a painting of Heloise, this time with a child, but still holding onto memory and the past. Each choice in this movie is so meaningful! Heloise's blue dress catching on fire symbolizing how she wants her responsibilities and wealth status to be burnt away! Sophie's abortion scene being recontextualized from being a taboo part of the female experience to being beautiful. The final song being the same song played on the shitty piano...I cannot wait to rewatch this when I get a girlfriend. I cannot get over how beautiful their relationship is: Heloise is a perfect muse, but Marianne loves her not just for her beauty but for the littlest details about her. I loved how the camera helped tell what Marianne was looking at. The things they remember are such small things, and these small things, like a single number, carry such insane amounts of emotional weight. And as for all movies I consider perfect, I see myself so much in this movie, even just in the facial expressions of the actors. Heloise's expressions at the end of the movie are exactly the feelings I feel today. It's been rough out there. Thank god movies like this exist. God fucking bless.

ts would NOT let itself end bro its pretty funny, not really scary tho

Incredible family drama horror that turns into Midsommar. Some scenes in this are so spectacular and I really didn’t know it would go there! I really loved Toni Collette’s performance!!!! It scared me so deeply!
