Shackled
The plot is basically Elang trying to survive his own mind. The film uses a lot of psychological elements for a story that isn’t actually that heavy, but that’s exactly what makes it feel more complex and fun to follow.
Honestly, the best part for me is the plot twist. It’s kinda predictable, sure, but Elang’s character made me feel a whole mix of things. annoyed, concerned, and eventually empathetic toward him.
There are definitely a lot of details that feel incomplete or unclear, but I think that actually works in the film’s favor. The messiness gives it a vibe that fits the story.
It actually reminded me a lot of Shutter Island, which is why it doesn’t feel entirely original. But still, it’s a really solid and entertaining film by Indonesian standards. We need more films like this.
